REEF SAFE SUNSCREEN FOR ALL ANIMALS! Here is why Dr. Rubin developed this chemical free safe sunscreen. Schmedley was an albino boxer who was a patient in Dr Jyl Rubin's veterinarian clinic. He could not go out in the sun so she developed a sunscreen just for him. It worked so well for him so she decided to make it available for other animals with high sensitivity to the sun.
Dr. Schmedley's™ Sol Screen™ Pet Sunscreen is a unique, superior quality, veterinarian developed high protection moisturizing sunscreen for the sensitive and vulnerable areas of your pets skin and non-haired areas. It is formulated to protect pets with light-colored areas that are sparse in hair such as tips of ears, nose, groin, interior of thighs, legs and the abdomen. Dr. Schmedley's™ Sol Screen Pet SunScreen™ hydrates the skin while offering SPF30 UVA-UVB and insect repellent protection.
What animals should this be put on?
We recommend Sol Screen™ for any pet/animal with short thin light, white hair, pink skin or pets with a summer cut and shaved down. Dr. Schmedley's™ Sol Screen™ pet sunscreen is great for Boxers, Labradors, Retrievers, Dobermans, Bull Dogs, Pit Bull Terriers, Poodles, Schnauzers, West Highland Terriers, Bichons, Maltese, Dalmatians, Great Danes, Saint Bernards, Great Pyrenees, Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, Chinese Crested Dogs, Sharpeis, Shepherds, Cattle dogs, Healers, Spaniels, Pointers, Scottish Terriers, Jack and Rat Terriers or on any mixed breed dog. Also can be used on cats, primates, pigs, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, cows and horses. Works well for pets subjected to high sun or outdoor exposure, shaved down pets, hairless breeds, working animals, swimming, boating, at the dog park, hiking, boating, snow activities, or active lifestyle dogs/any animal who are exposed to the sun.
Is this safe for my cat?
This pet sunscreen contains Titanium Dioxide, which is considered safe for use on ear tips and "non-lickable" exposed areas of cats. Cats are fastidious groomers and usually loathe anything topical on their fur or skin. Cats will try their hardest to lick it off. Even homeopathic remedies can be toxic to cats if put on areas they lick and ingest. The recommended ratio of tea tree oil to avoid toxicity in pets is 0.1-1.0%. Sol Screen™ Pet sunscreen is less than 0.05% tea tree oil per 4 ounce bottle.
What else can I use this for?
A natural repellent to protect you and your pets from Fleas, Ticks, Mosquitoes, and Flies. Also screens harmful UV rays, which may cause skin cancer and sunburns in pets. (Prevents pre-skin cancers in white, pink, or light color pigmented animals. Dogs, cats, horses, llamas, pigs, cows, goats, sheep, and any animal with sensitive skin.)
Can I use this if I forgot my sunscreen?
Yes! It is safe for people too!
